Our purpose is to engage the congregation in mission and service through church ministries and in the world beyond the local church in ways that fulfill God's will and Jesus' commandment to be his helping hands in the world.

Hearts & Hands

• Since October 2003, our Desert Spring Hearts & Hands outreach project has touched the lives of numerous children in the Las Vegas valley, providing clothing and support for specific low-income families designated by social workers and administrators.  It is our “faith in action.” Representing the compassion of Desert Spring Church, Hearts & Hands frequently responds to the immediate needs of young families with your caring donations. We have provided such items as baby furniture, car seats, chairs and kitchen items, towels and bed linens, both new and gently used children’s clothing -- and Welcome New Baby Baskets!  Your donations are significant to others and may be left in/beside the Hearts & Hands box across from the Church Office; please label them. An immediate need exists for blankets and a dining table and chairs. Children’s clothing is always needed.

Deaconess Giving Tree

• Faith families “adopt” a family and purchase gifts to make their Christmas a happier one.

Faith in Action

• Volunteers help with older or disabled people in our community who need some assistance to stay in their own homes.

Habitat for Humanity

• Brings families and communities in need together with volunteers and resources to build decent, affordable housing for low-income households.

United Methodist Women

• Women of all ages meet for Christian fellowship with the overall purpose being to minister to the needs of women and children.
